Simplified Explanation of Michigan Penal Code Section 750.157v
This part of the Michigan Penal Code relates to making false statements in order to procure a financial transaction device, like a credit or debit card. Here's a simpler explanation:
If you, with the intent to deceive:
- Make or cause to be made (either directly or indirectly),
- A written false statement about your identity or the identity of another person,
and you do this with the goal of getting a financial transaction device issued, then you're committing a felony.
In simpler terms, it means that if you lie about who you are or who someone else is in writing, in order to get a credit card or similar financial tool, you are committing a serious crime.
